MONMOUTH - The Seattle University Redhawks scored only 6:41 in the game and continued with stifling defensive and they shutout Western Oregon 3-0 Friday afternoon at the Western Oregon Soccer Field.

With the win, the no. 11 nationally ranked Redhawks improved to 11-1-2 on the season, 6-0-1 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play.

The loss for the Wolves dropped them to 7-7-2 on the season, 0-5-1 in conference play.

Leah Wymer’s seventh goal of the season found an open net as her shot rolled past goalkeeper Ally Meyer to start off the scoring for the visitors. That would be the only goal for the first half.

SU’s second goal of the day came as a WOU defender tried to clear Cassy’s Smith’s shot but accidentally kicked the ball into the upper portion of the net to score the “own goal”. The Redhawks final score of the day came from Ashley Porter and she flicked in an open goal score off of a header assist from Wymer.
