SALEM - Question: Can anyone slow down defending conference champion Sprague?

The Olympians (4-3 overall, 3-0 CVC) ride a 4-game winning streak into Friday night’s home game with the Redmond Panthers.

During the streak, Sprague’s offense has come alive and is averaging 36 points per game.

The Panthers (4-3 overall, 2-1 CVC) are on a 3-game win streak, and will rely on their defense to keep the Olys offense in check.

Redmond’s defense has allowed an average of just 7 points per game in their last three games.

Salem-News.com outlook: Sprague 28 Redmond 23

West Salem and McKay meet in what could be one of the Central Valley Conference games of the year.

The Titans (4-2 overall, 3-1 CVC) and Royal Scots (4-3 overall, 3-1 CVC) both need the win to stay in the playoff race.

West Salem comes into the game with a 3-game winning streak, while the Royal Scots have won 2 straight.

Salem-news.com outlook: West Salem 35 McKay 21

McNary (2-5 overall, 0-3 CVC) travels to North Salem Friday. The Vikings (3-4 overall, 1-2 CVC) need a win to have any hope of making the state playoffs this year, while the Celtics are hoping for a win to help build confidence in their young team for next year.

North has lost 4 straight games after starting the season 3-1.

Salem-News.com outlook: North Salem 24 McNary 21

For South Salem Friday’s non-conference game at home against Oregon City is all about respect. The Saxons(1-6 overall, 0-4 CVC) have lost six straight, after an opening night win against Eagle Point.

Oregon City has not won a game this year, and the Saxons can’t take the Pioneers from the Three River Conference for granted.

5A # 1 West Albany faces another tough test this week on the road at Lebanon. The Warriors (4-3 overall, 3-1 MWC) need an upset win over the Bulldogs (7-0 overall, 4-0 MWC) to stay in the Mid-Willamette Conference playoff race.

Dallas (3-3 overall, 3-1 MWC) should stay in the MWC playoff race after Friday night. The winless Woodburn Bulldogs come to town whoin their last four games have given-up 40 or more points per game.

Salem-News.com outlook: Dallas 49 Woodburn 7

Silverton travels to 5A # 7 Corvallis. Silverton must pull off the upset to have any shot at the state playoffs.
