SALEM - Question: Can anyone in the Central Valley Conference slow down defending conference champion Sprague? Answer: so far NO! The Olympians rode a 4-game winning streak into Friday night’s home game with the Redmond Panthers. Well, make it 5-straight after the Olympians cruised to a 28-6 win against the Panthers Friday night at Sprague. The Olympians rushed for 300 yards while the defense held the Panthers to only 73 yards on the ground. Coming into the game, Redmond was on a three game winning streak, but the loss moves the Panthers (4-4 overall, 2-2 CVC) into a tie for fourth place in the conference with North Salem. With the win, Sprague (5-3 overall, 4-0 CVC) remains atop the CVC. West Salem rolled to their fourth straight win, 33-7 over McKay. The Titans (5-2 overall, 4-1 CVC) now have sole possession of second place in the CVC. The loss dropped the Royal Scots (4-4 overall, 3-2 CVC) into third place in the CVC, one game ahead of North Salem and Redmond. Titans running back Brady Johnson rushed for 183 yards and three touchdowns. For the Royal Scots, running back Remeco Bose rushed for 116 yards and scored McKay’s only touchdown. Bose has now rushed for over 1,000 yards on the season. North Salem ended an 11-game losing streak and kept their playoff hopes alive with a 31-14 victory over McNary at home. North had lost 4 straight games after beginning the season 3-1. For South Salem Friday’s non-conference game at home against Oregon City was all about respect. The Saxons (2-6 overall, 0-4 CVC) had lost six straight, after an opening night win against Eagle Point. South Salem kept Oregon City winless on the year with a 24-0 win. 5A # 1 West Albany beat-up Lebanon 54-21 at Lebanon. The Warriors (4-4 overall, 3-2 MWC) needed an upset win over the Bulldogs (8-0 overall, 5-0 MWC) to stay in the Mid-Willamette Conference playoff race. Dallas (4-3 overall, 4-1 MWC) stayed ahead of Lebanon in the MWC playoff race after a 52-21 thrashing of the Woodburn Bulldogs. Silverton’s playoff hopes are all but gone after a 42-14 loss at 5A # 7 Corvallis. Regis for the second straight week scored 60 plus points while holding their opponent scoreless. The Rams blasted the winless Harrisburg Eagles, 61-0. Last week, Regis (7-1 overall, 5-0 PWC) embarrassed Waldport, 69-0 Salem-News.com Mid-Valley High School Football Scoreboard Week 8 West Salem - 33 (5-2 overall, 4-1 CVC) McKay - 7 (4-4 overall, 3-2 CVC) North Salem - 31 (4-4 overall, 2-2 CVC) McNary - 14 (2-6 overall, 0-4 CVC) Sprague - 28 (5-3 overall, 4-0 CVC) Redmond - 6 (4-4 overall, 2-2 CVC) South Salem - 24 (2-6 overall, 0-4 CVC) Oregon City - 0 (0-8 overall, 0-4 TRC) Mid-Willamette: West Albany - 54 (8-0 overall, 5-0 MWC) Lebanon - 21 (4-4 overall, 3-2 MWC) Corvallis - 42 (6-1 overall, 4-1 MWC) Silverton - 14 (2-6 overall, 1-4 MWC) Dallas - 52 (4-3 overall, 4-1 MWC) Woodburn - 21 (0-8 overall, 0-5 MWC) South Albany - 34 (2-6 overall, 2-3 MWC) Crescent Valley - 9 (1-7 overall, 1-4 MWC) Capital: Molalla - 57 (7-1 overall, 4-0 CC) Stayton - 7 (3-5 overall, 2-2 CC) Pac-West: Regis - 61 (7-1 overall, 5-0 PWC) Harrisburg - 0 (0-7 overall, 0-4 PWC) Santiam Christian - 34 (7-1 overall, 4-1 PWC) Jefferson - 8 (3-4 overall, 3-1 PWC) Nestucca - 51 (7-1 overall, 2-0 Northwest) Chemawa - 0 (0-6 overall, 0-0 PWC) Tri-River: Blanchet - 42 (5-2 overall, 2-1 TRC) Kennedy - 13 (3-5 overall, 0-3 TRC) West Valley: Dayton - 42 (6-2 overall, 3-0 WVC) Amity - 21 (3-4 overall, 1-2 WVC) Sheridan - 44 (5-2 overall, 1-2 WVC) Gervais - 6 (1-6 overall, 0-3 WVC) Colton - 20 (5-3 overall, 3-0 WVC) Willamina - 14 (4-3 overall, 1-2 WVC) Cowapa: Yamhill-Carlton - 41 (7-1 overall, 3-0 Cowapa) Seaside - 14 (4-4 overall, 0-3 Cowapa) Special District 1 (1A): St. Paul - 64 Country Christian - 42
