TUCSON, Ariz. - It wasn’t a pretty win, but it’s a win, and one step closer to a bowl game for the Oregon State Beavers.

Matt Moore threw for 181 yards and a touchdown while running back Yvenson Bernard rushed for 107 yards as Oregon State beat the Arizona Wildcats, 17-10 at Arizona Stadium Saturday.

Moore also threw two interceptions.

The Beavers (4-3 overall, 2-2 Pac-10) had 332 total yard of offense compared to 183 for the Wildcats (3-5 overall, 1-4 Pac-10).

Both teams had a hard time holding onto the ball, as each team committed three turnovers.

Sammie Stroughter caught a 34-yard touchdown pass from Matt Moore in the first quarter to open the Beavers scoring.

Later in the first Matt Moore ran for a 1-yard touchdown run.

The only scoring in the second quarter was a Wildcats 30-yard field goal by Nicholas Folk.

In the third, Arizona’s Syndric Steptoe had a 34-yard punt return for a touchdown to cut the Beavers lead to 14-10.

Alexis Serna hit an 18-yard field goal was just over seven minutes left in the fourth quarter to secure the win for the Beavers.
