EUGENE - Josh Akwenuke, the leading scorer at Lane Community College the past two seasons, has been added as a walk-on to the Oregon men’s basketball roster, coach Ernie Kent announced Monday.

The 6-5, 200-lbs., guard averaged 22.1 points and 7.8 rebounds per game as a sophomore in 2005-06 and 14.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game as a freshman for the Titans. He was a two-time NWAACC all-region selection.

A Portland, Ore., native, Akwenuke averaged 11.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game as a senior at Westview High School in 2003. He was an all-Metro first team and all-state third team selection by The Oregonian.

Akwenuke then attended the University of Puget Sound during the 2003-04 season and played in nine non-conference games for the Loggers before a shoulder injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season. He received a medical redshirt from UPS prior to transferring to LCC.
