STANFORD, Calif. - In second day action Saturday in the Stanford Intercollegiate, the University of Oregon women's golf team remained in eighth place in its final stop of the fall campaign. The Ducks shot a 10-over second-round score of 295 Saturday, and now sport a two-round tally of 592 (+24) after they opened with a 297 score Friday. Oregon stood fourth among the eight Pac-10 teams on hand. Senior Kim McCready continued to lead UO in the overall standings after a 2-over 73 Saturday and stood in a tie for 18th overall (71-73-144) after she opened the tourney Friday with a par 71. The Placerville, Calif., native carded birdies Saturday on the second and sixth holes, parred 12 holes, and bogeyed the third, 10th, 12th, and 13th holes. Sophomore Cathryn Bristow (20th-tie, 74-71-145) climbed nine spots in the individual standings Saturday with her par 71 second round and pulled within one stroke of McCready. The Huapai, N.Z. native Bristow parred the first, seventh, 15th, 16th and 17th holes, parred eight holes, and bogeyed the third, fifth, 12th, 13th, 14th holes. Freshman Felicia Eastick climbed 12 spots in the standings with her 1-over 73 Saturday (50th-tie, 80-73-153), while fellow frosh Kate Hildahl trailed one stroke back (56th-t, 75-79-154). Senior Therese Wenslow fired a 78 Saturday and was one stroke (77-78-155) behind Hildahl. Overall in the team standings, No. 6 Stanford moved into the lead Saturday and ended the round with a five-stroke advantage over first-day leader No. 12 Arizona (second, 277-292-569). No. 1 Georgia followed in third place (284-286-570), ahead of No. 9 Vanderbilt (fourth, 288-292-580), No. 15 New Mexico (fifth-tie, 294-291-585) and No. 2 Duke (fifth-tie, 292-293-585). Others schools in the 15-team field included Washington State (seventh, 295-296-591), Oregon (eighth, 297-295-592), No. 3 UCLA (ninth, 298-296-594), No. 21 Arkansas (10th, 305-291-596), No. 41 San Jose State (11th, 297-300-597), No. 46 Washington (12th, 305-299-604), Oregon State (13th-tie, 306-300-606), Tulsa (13th-tie, 302-304-606) and California (13th-tie, 311-295-606). Individually, Whitney Wade of Georgia held onto the lead (67-69-136) by a two-stroke margin over Stacy Lewis (second-tie, 71-67-138), Lauren Todd of Stanford (second-tie, 70-68-138) and Alison Walshe of Arizona (second-tie, 67-71-138).
