SALEM - For the first time ever, Corban’s men’s and women’s cross country teams will enter the NAIA Region I Championships ranked in the latest NAIA coaches’ polls. The men’s program is ranked 32nd in the nation, while the women are 34th. This is the third time in program history that the men have been ranked among the nation’s elite, while the women have appeared in three polls this season. The Warriors will be competing in La Grande beginning at 10:00 AM on Saturday, with the opportunity to advance to the NAIA Championships in Louisville, Kentucky, for the first-time ever. On the men’s side, senior Brent Fahsholz leads the way for Corban after capturing two individual titles this season at the season-opening Boxer Rebellion and the first-ever Corban/Warner Pacific Invitational. Sophomore Ben Snell brought home the team’s other individual title this season three weeks ago at the Cascade/Warner Pacific Open. Corban captured its second-ever team title at the Corban/Warner Pacific Invitational ran earlier this season in Salem at Bush Pasture Park. On the women’s side, freshman Carli Moller and junior transfer Danielle Jordan pace the Warriors. Moller won her first-ever individual title earlier this season at the Corban/Warner Pacific Invitational, while finishing 2nd ten days ago at the Oregon State University Invitational. Corban took home its first-ever team title earlier this season at the first-ever Corban/Warner Pacific Invitational. Fourth-year head coach Norm Berney will be taking what he calls his most talented squad ever to Eastern Oregon this weekend. Last season, the Warriors finished 5th in the men’s 8K race and 6th in the women’s 5K race. On the men’s side, sophomore Nathan May finished 12th individually in a time of 26:37.45, while freshman Katrina Davis paced the women’s team thanks to an individual finish of 21st in a time of 20:39.29.
