SPOKANE, Wash. - Western Oregon had three players named to the second team of the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference women’s soccer team, announced Tuesday by the league office in Spokane.

Seniors Lisa Munyon and Amy Weberg, along with junior Erica Hibbard were selected to the team. Junior goalkeeper Ally Meyer earned honorable mention accolades, as did sophomore Maggie Kuzmer.

Seattle University midfielder Ashley Porter and Western Washington head coach Travis Connell were selected as the 2006 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Player-of-the-Year and Coach-of-the-Year, respectively.

Munyon and Weberg were honorable mention picks in 2005 and Hibbard was a second-team pick last fall. Munyon, a senior from Medford, was also selected to the GNAC All-Academic team for the third consecutive time, while Meyer was named this fall for the second time.

Munyon was a four-year starter, while Weberg is a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter.

Hibbard, a junior from Vancouver, is a three-year starter for WOU.

Meyer is in her first full year in the goal as a starter, ditto for Kuzmer.

Western Oregon finished the 2006 season with an even 9-9-2 record under co-head coaches Rod Fretz and Kevin Plechl. The Wolves were fourth in the GNAC standings with a 2-7-1 record.
