SALEM - The Sprague Olympians have rattled off two straight wins and sit atop the Central Valley Conference with a 2-0 record. Now the Olympians, take a week off from conference action and head north to face Lakeridge Pacers from the Three Rivers Conference. North Salem and McKay face off this week, both teams looking to rebound after big time losses. The Vikings were defeated by West Salem, 27-3, while the Royal Scots were manhandled by Sprague 40-21. Both teams need a win to stay in the CVC playoff race. South Salem’s chances of making the playoffs are nearly gone after a 27-7 loss at Redmond last week. The Saxons face another tough road test this week at West Salem. McNary plays host to conference newcomer Redmond. The Celtics were blasted by Clackamas of the Three Rivers Conference, 40-14. In what could be the match-up of the year in the mid-valley, #1 West Albany and #5 Corvallis meet in a game of undefeated teams in the 5A at Corvallis. Corvallis rolled to a 49-6 win over Woodburn, while West Albany struggled to beat cross-town rival South Albany, 22-6.
