CORVALLIS - Matt Ma shot a 3-under 141 to help Oregon jump out to an 11-stroke lead following the first 36 holes of the Northwest Collegiate Classic, played Monday at the 7,040-yard, par-72 Trysting Tree Golf Course.

The Ducks recorded back-to-back rounds of even-par 288 to finish the day at level par 576.

Ma, a senior from Aiea, Hawaii, shot a 67 Monday morning, which was two strokes off his career low set at this tournament two years ago. He followed that with an afternoon 74 and was two shots behind Washington’s Zach Bixler in the individual race. Ma had eight birdies and an eagle in Monday. Bixler carded rounds of 69-70 for a 139 total.

Three other Ducks finished the day in the top 10. Junior Derek Sipe had rounds of 73-70 and was tied for fourth at 1-under 143.
