Cougars Nip Beavers, 13-6

Washington State’s wins for the first time in Corvallis in 10 years.

CORVALLIS - Alex Brink went 19-32-270 yards and a touchdown, and Jason Hill caught five passes for 121 yards and a touchdown as the Washington State Cougars won a defensive battle against the Oregon State Beavers, 13-6 Saturday night at Reser Stadium.

The Cougar defense forced four Oregon State turnovers (3 fumbles, 1 interception) and held Beavers star running back Yvenson Bernard to 91 yards on 17 carries.

Oregon State kicker Alexis Serna did all of the Beavers scoring.

Serna hit field goals from 42 and 41 yards.

Beavers starting Quarterback Matt Moore went 18-34-223 yards and an interception, while receiver Sammie Stroughter caught 6 passes for 124 yards.

Oregon State was able to force two Washington State turnovers, (1 fumble, 1 interception).

With the loss, Oregon State falls to 2-3 overall, and 0-2 in the Pac-10.

The win moves the Cougars to 4-2 overall, and 2-1 in the Pac-10.

The Beavers travel to Seattle next weekend to face the Washington Huskies.

Kick-off is set for 3:30 PM.
