Willamette Extends Shutout Streak, Beats Pacific, 4-0

Willamette, ranked #5 in NCAA Division III, improves to 10-0-1 on the season, and 7-0-0 in the Northwest Conference.

SALEM - Willamette University defeated Pacific University, 4-0, at Sparks Field in Salem Saturday afternoon. It was the Bearcats' ninth shutout in 11 games and WU's 5th shutout in a row.

Willamette has not allowed a goal in 537 minutes and 16 seconds. With the loss, Pacific falls to 2-6-2 overall, 0-6-1 in the NWC.

Meghan Anderson of Willamette recorded a goal or an assist for the 7th consecutive game. Jessica Lammers of Willamette recorded a goal or an assist for the 5th consecutive game. Goalies Kari Woody (76:19, 3 saves) and Laura Holahan (13:41, 0 saves) split the shutout. Woody has seven solo shutouts and two shared shutouts this season. Sarah Chrusoskie of Pacific earned 3 saves in goal.

Pacific's best scoring chance occurred just over halfway through the first half, when Stacy Sueoka took a pass at midfield with only the Willamette goalie to beat. She advanced all the way into the penalty area as the defense rushed back, then shot toward the middle of the goal, where Woody recorded a save.

Willamette outshot Pacific, 32-6, including 7-3 in shots on goal. WU earned five corner kicks, while Pacific achieved one corner kick.
