Willamette Finishes Second at NWC Southern Division Four-Way Golf Tournament

Linfield claimed the team title for the third time in this fall’s NWC four-way events.

WOODBURN - Baylor Falk of Willamette University shot a one-over-par 73 (38-36) on the Oregon Golf Association Golf Course to finish in second place at the Northwest Conference Southern Division Four-Way Tournament #3, hosted by Lewis & Clark College and administered by WU Head Coach Steve Prothero on Sunday.

Falk trailed only medalist Taryn Braseth of Pacific in the individual standings, after Braseth shot a 70 (34-36) to win by three strokes.

Linfield’s winning score was 301, as the Wildcats completed 18 holes with an 11-stroke lead over Pacific University, which took second with a score of 312. Willamette was third at 333, while Lewis & Clark finished fourth at 339.

Braseth and Falk were followed in the individual standings by Kyle Henderson of Linfield. Henderson shot 74 (39-35), one stroke ahead of teammate Joel Rychard, who took fourth at 75 (39-35). Fifth place was a three-way tie between Andrew Hebert of Lewis & Clark, Jeff Nigro of Linfield and Tyler Nelson of Linfield. All three shot a 76, with Hebert shooting 39-37, Nigro recording 39-37 and Nelson earning 38-38.

The NWC Southern Division Four-Way Tournament #4 will be hosted by the Bearcats at the Illahe Hills Country Club in Salem, on Monday, Oct. 16th. Willamette, Lewis & Clark, Linfield and Pacific will compete once again in the final tune-up before the NWC Men’s Fall Classic, Oct. 21-22 at Aspen Lakes in Sisters.
