MONMOUTH - Albertson scored two goals in the first half and Western Oregon scored two goals in the second, but it was WOU's Jane Svendson's five-yard shot six minutes into the overtime period that sealed matters during a 3-2 women's non-conference soccer win for the Wolves on Saturday afternoon at th WOU Soccer Field.

The result moved Western Oregon's record to 4-1-1 on the season, while Albertson is now 0-4.

Allie Dufault single-handedly gave the visitors a 2-0 lead in the first half, scoring at 18:18 and 33:06. The Wolves did the same in the second half, behind the leg of Erica Hibbard. The junior scored moments after the break (46:08) and then tied the match with a score 10 minutes later (56:14) off a pass from Aly Reamer.

But neither team could find the goal after that, until Svendson's short shot past the Yotes goalkeeper Sadie Hughes ended the match at 96:24. Svendson's goal came on WOU's first shot of the extra period, after Albertson had already taken three but hadn't found the net. Svendson used a pass from Liorah Ruitzel to knock home the game winner.

WOU goalie Ally Meyer had nine saves for WOU, who will next host No. 2 nationally ranked Seattle Pacific on Wednesday to kick-off Great Northwest Athletic Conference play for the Wolves.
