FOREST GROVE - A strong start to the season for Laura Hill and the Pacific women's soccer team has been rewarded with Hill's selection as the Northwest Conference's Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Hill scored all three of her goals in the second half of the Boxers' season opening 5-0 victory over Cascade last Monday.

The hat trick was the 10th in Pacific history and tied a single match record for goals scored. She added a first half assist to bring her point total to seven, which also tied a Pacific single match record.

Hill also earned assists in the Boxers' 2-1 victory over Oregon Tech on Wednesday and in a 1-1 tie with Northwest (Wash.) on Saturday.

The weekly honor is Hill's first in her four-year career at Pacific.

The Jesuit High School grad played in nine matches during her junior season before becoming sidelined for the remainder of the year with a foot injury.

Her three goals last week is half of her season total of six from the 2005 campaign, and her three assists are the most since her freshman year.

Hill's eight assists in 2003 was one short of the Boxers' single season record.
