Oregon Now 10-0 After Blanking Boise State

BOISE, IDAHO - The University of Oregon volleyball team equaled its longest winning streak in team history by blanking Boise State, 3-0, on Saturday at Bronco Gym.

The Ducks (10-0) matched the 1984 squad for the most consecutive victories and established a new Oregon record for wins to start a season by downing the Broncos (6-6) 30-12, 30-21 and 30-28.

Boise State battled relentlessly in Game 3, but couldn’t overcome Oregon’s size and depth advantage.

Sophomore Mira Djuric responded after her worst match as a Duck on Friday in a win over Gonzaga by leading the Ducks with a match-high 17.0 points on 15 kills and four block assists. Djuric hit a career-high .667, committing only one error in 21 total swings.

Senior Kristen Bitter had nine kills and eight total blocks for 13.0 points, and freshman Sonja Newcombe also finished with nine kills.

Junior blocker Karen Waddington eclipsed her career mark for blocks for a second night in a row, notching ten against the Bronoos.

Kristen Voysen paced BSU with 9.5 points and seven kills.
