OSU Softball Holding Alumni Game On Saturday

The game is being played in conjunction with Hall Of Fame weekend.

CORVALLIS - Oregon State’s softball program will hold an alumni game on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the OSU Softball Complex. The game will feature 21 former Beaver players returning to campus for the Hall of Fame weekend celebration.

All-American Erin Capps becomes the first softball player to be inducted into the Oregon State Hall of Fame during a ceremony on Friday night and will be recognized again at halftime of Saturday’s football game against Idaho.

Capps lettered from 1982-85 and was the Beavers’ first All-American in softball in 1983. The catcher from Whittier, Calif., continues to hold OSU’s school record for career triples with 18, and she also earned All-NorPac Conference and All-West Region honors during her career.

Participants in the alumni game include five former student-athletes that competed on Oregon State’s AIAW World Series teams – Taraleen Elliott-Stymer, Melinda Farm-Ameele, Lisa Hoogesteger, Denise Smail and Colleen Henery – the Beavers played in the AIAW World Series from 1977-81, including finishing 5th in the country during the 1980 and 1981 campaigns.

Four 2006 NCAA World Series participants also dot the alumni roster as recent graduates Ingrid Lochelt, Amy Klever, Lisa Allen, and Adrienne Alo return to Corvallis.
