SALEM - Former South Salem standout and Oregon 4-A Player of the Year Jeremiah Dominguez will not return to the University of Portland for the 2006-07 school year, the University announced on Thursday.

Dominguez, a two-year letterman for the men’s basketball program, has begun the process of transferring to Portland State, which Dominguez said would better fit his academic and athletic pursuits.

Dominguez led the Saxons to the 4-A State Basketball Championship in 2004.

He must sit out this season before he is eligible to play for the Vikings.
