Southern Oregon Rallies to Beat Corban, 3-1

The Warriors travel Tuesday to face NW Christian College in Eugene.

ASHLAND - The Raider (9-4) volleyball team added another successful weekend to their season after winning their second game of the weekend 3-1 against Corban College (2-11).

Corban College came out strong in game one pushing the Raiders to a 32-30 game with the Warriors coming out on top. Southern Oregon fought back in games two and three winning each game 30-26 and 30-21, respectively.

The Raiders won the final game with ease tallying a score of 30-16 to end the match.

The Raiders had three players in double digits for kills with Mia Wortel leading the way with a season high of 20 kills. Jaclyn Hamilton-Smith and Richelle Millsap each had 13 kills on the night with Hamilton-Smith also adding four service aces.

Wortel boosted the team’s defense with five solo blocks along with two assists. Emily Stone was another important factor in the defense recording

18 digs while Isabel Yasana had 13 digs and 27 set assists.

For the Warriors, Chelsea Reeher notched 22 kills and three blocks on the night.

Jessica McGraw recorded 10 kills for the Warriors. Libero, Becky Horn put up 30 digs to lead the Warriors on defense while McGraw added 10 digs.
