Bearcats Kam And Morrison Fall at ITA Northwest Regional

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Willamette University’s Tiffany Kam and Alyssa Morrison both lost to seeded opponents in the round of 16 singles at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northwest Regional in women’s tennis on Saturday, Sept. 23rd.

All of Willamette’s entries have now been eliminated from the singles and doubles brackets.

Kam, the #5 seed, was upset by 11th-seeded Emily Smith of Whitman, 7-6, 6-0. Kam reached a tie-breaker in the opening set, but Smith prevailed. Smith then won the second set without losing a game.

Morrison was defeated by the tournament’s #8 seed, Alyssa Sidoff from the University of Puget Sound. Sidoff won the match, 6-0, 6-0.

On Friday, Morrison and her doubles partner, Hannah Johnson, also lost to Sidoff, who paired with Courtney Dunham to defeat the Willamette team, 8-2, in the round of 16.
