FOREST GROVE - For the second straight season, Pacific handed Cal State East Bay a loss at the Boxer Kickoff Invitational as Jill Peacock's 20 kills led Pacific to a four-game victory, 30-25, 30-18, 28-30, 30-19, at the Boxer Kickoff Volleyball Invitational at the Pacific Athletic Center.

The Boxers (1-2) earned their first win of the season thanks to a .228 attack percentage, hitting .308 in game two and .257 in each of the last two games.

Peacock led three Boxers' in double figure kills. Melissa Dunn connected for a double-double of 11 kills and 16 digs and Sarah Monda finished with 10 kills. Jamie Furutani, meanwhile, was a magnet as she registered a career high 23 digs.

Anela Iseke finished with 44 assists.

The Pioneers (2-1), meanwhile, struggled to find their rhythm most of the evening, hitting above .100 in only the third game. Meghann Adams was the only Pioneers' player in double figure kills, leading with a double-double of 13 kills and 16 digs. Alyssa Chang finished with 22 assists.

Pacific set the tone early in game one, building a 9-5 lead early before temporarily giving up the lead. The Boxers took the lead for good at 14-13on a bad set by the Pioneers. East Bay kept the game close, coming within four at 27-24 before a kill by Peacock and a pair of errors sealed the 30-25 victory. Monda used two kills to open game two with a 3-0 Pacific lead, and the Boxers only stretched the lead from there. A kill by Dunn gave Pacific a 24-14 lead, and a pair of aces by Peacock and a pair of attack errors gave Pacific the victory.

Cal State Eat Bay stayed with the Boxers in game three, trailing by no more than three in the frame and went ahead 22-21 on a pair of Pacific attack errors. Pacific held a 26-25 lead late, but Shanell McMillen put away two balls and Kelly Paris connected to close it out in favor of the Pioneers.

Pacific made sure early that Cal State East Bay would never get into game four, going ahead 9-1 on two kills each by Peacock and Sarah Braun (So., Bainbridge Island, Wash.). The Pioneers never came closer than five points the rest of the way as the Boxers registered 15 kills to win the game and close the match.
