MONMOUTH - Western Oregon rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Saint Martins in five games during a wild Saturday night volleyball match-up at the Physical Education Building, 27-30, 21-30, 30-20, 30-22, 15-11.

The outcome gave the Wolves a win in their first match at home this season, and also gave them their first Great Northwest Athletic Conference victory of 2006. WOU improved to 3-9 overall and 1-1 in conference play, while Saint Martin's dropped to 0-5 on the year and 0-1 in the GNAC.

Katrina Johnson had 21 kills and hit .320 on the night, and Shakira Johnson added 20 kills for the Wolves. WOU had five players with double figure totals in digs, led by Jessica Baty's 18. WOU also had 24 total blocks and eight service aces on the evening. Shealum Campisi had 20 kills to lead Saint Martin's.

In the pivotal fifth game, the Saints took a 7-4 lead, only to see the Wolves come roaring back with the next five points. WOU would never trail again, and would close out the match on a kill by Laura Sakala.

After playing 11 of their first 12 matches on the road, the Wolves will travel again this week, treking to Seattle Pacific (Thursday) and Central Washington (Saturday).
