Service Dog Given To Wounded Vietnamese-American U.S. Army Captain

Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) provided a service dog to Vietnamese-American United States Army Captain James Van Thach, who was severely wounded in Iraq and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for his wounds.
(WASHINGTON DC) -
Vietnamese-American US Army Captain James Van Thach walked away from a career as an aspiring lawyer when he graduated from Touro Law Center in 2002, after the terrorist attack on our country on September 11, 2001.
He became a U.S. Army Infantry officer and served two arduous years fighting for his nation in Iraq.

Passionate divers may join a pilot "guest dive" program at the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
They will dive with Aquarium sharks and other fishes under the supervision of Aquarium dive guides, and explore the simulated shipwreck in the Halibut Flats exhibit, swim through the kelp and become a part of the Aquarium dive show as visitors in the tunnel watch them and take photos.

The critically endangered Fuertes’s Parrot and 11 other globally threatened species of birds, mammals, and amphibians will receive greater protections thanks to a joint effort by several advocacy groups.
They joined forces to acquire about 356 acres of land to double the size of the existing Giles-Fuertesi Nature Reserve.
