Fire Battalion Chief Crashes Vehicle Near Brooks

(BROOKS, Ore.) - Fire vehicle crash photo by Joy Graves for Salem-News.com Investigators say Marion County's Fire Chief, 44-year old J. Kevin Henson, was involved in a serious crash Friday while enroute to a fire on Brooklake Road with his emergency equipment activated.

The Chief was heading to a structure fire at a business in the 3500 block of Brooklake Road NE, traveling westbound, when a vehicle he was passing turned left into his path.

Police Find Burned Man on Roadway

The burn victim has been idetified as 26-year-old Augusto Martinez-Escobar of Salem.

(BROOKS, Ore. ) - Marion County Sheriff Marion County Sheriff's detectives are trying to determine if a man found lying in the road was burn intentionally or on accident.

Deputies, with the assistance of Gervais Police, located the burn victim on 50th Ave NE near Waconda Rd. NE in Brooks as they were checking the area for suspects in a reported theft.

OLCC Cancels Liquor Licenses of Outlaws Bar and Grill and Brook Nook Deli

Oregon's Liquor Control Commission lowers the boom on several businesses.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Bar is closed At its monthly meeting Friday, the commissioners of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission voted to cancel the liquor licenses of Outlaws Bar and Grill in Portland and Brook Nook Deli in Brooks, Oregon.

The OLCC says the cancellation of Outlaws Bar and Grill, 722 E. Burnside, came as the result of a history of persistent problems involving eleven serious incidents from September 18th 2006 through August 31st 2007.

Van Crashing Into House Injures Two in Brooks

Both were transported by ambulance to Salem Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

(BROOKS, Ore.) - Crash investigation Marion County Sheriff's Deputies say two people were injured when a man drove his 1998 Dodge Caravan into the family residence, located at 8255 65th Ave NE in Brooks, Oregon. The crash happened around 7:00 PM.

He says responding Deputies found 70-year old Robert Appledoorn had driven his mini-van into an interior wall of his residence as he was maneuvering in his garage.
