Fatal Crash Claims Two When Vehicle Goes Off Cliff in Oregon Wilderness

The vehicle was 100 or more feet down a steep embankment.

(WILLAMINA, Ore.) - Initial reports indicated there were 4-6 people in a vehicle that had "gone off a cliff".

Upon arrival, crews found three victims in two separate locations along the road. They were transported to Salem Hospital.

Three Killed During Morning Crash East of Salem

When emergency crews arrived at the scene the Honda was on fire.

(SALEM, Ore.) - The two adults in the Honda, 33-year old Kelly Byrd and 41-year old Joseph Dominick, both died at the scene of the crash.

Investigators determined Byrd had been driving the Honda southbound on Howell Prairie Road when she crossed into the oncoming lane of travel, striking the 2016 Ram.

Washington Man Killed in Hwy 18 Crash

The crash happened about 2:47 a.m. on Hwy 18 near milepost 15.

(POLK COUNTY, Ore.) - Police say that a Dodge Caravan, believed to be early 2000's (possibly 2004) was westbound on Hwy 18 when it left the roadway, struck a tree, and caught fire.

The operator, 24-year old Anthony Maestas of Vancouver, Washington, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Crash Near Dayton Claims Three Lives

The multi-injury crash closed Dayton-Salem Hwy (221) for over four hours.

(DAYTON, Ore.) - Preliminary investigation revealed a gray 2004 Volkswagen Passat, operated by 33-year old Krista Ashley, of Salem, was northbound on Hwy 221 going toward Dayton when, for unknown reasons, she crossed into the southbound lane striking a black 2019 Chevy Cruz, operated by 69-year old Susie Valdez of Salem.

Valdez and her passenger, 70-year old Robert Valdez of Salem both sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased.

Fatal Crash Claims Two at Gopher Valley Road (UPDATE)

This is the 3rd fatality near here in the last six months.

(SHERIDAN, Ore.) - UPDATE: Wednesday night at 7:30 fire and EMS crews from Sheridan, SW Polk, and West Valley responded to a reported 2-vehicle accident.

The initial reports were that two vehicles had collided, with 2 known fatalities and 2 critically injured persons.

Salem Man Killed in Crash With Garbage Truck

(SALEM, Ore.) - A two vehicle crash claimed the life of one man and sent another to the hospital Monday afternoon. Salem Police responded to the intersection of Mission St SE and 25th St SE at 1:56 p.m.

Arriving officers located two vehicles with heavy damage in the intersection. 26-year old Landon David Oliverson, from Salem, was the driver of one of the involved vehicles, a dark colored Jeep SUV. He was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

Bay City Man Killed in Hwy 101 Crash

The second car's driver and passenger were not injured.

(TILLAMOOK COUNTY, Ore.) - Friday night, September 20, 2019 at about 9:16, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 101 near mile post 62.

A 1992 Chevrolet C1500 was southbound when it crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a 2017 Ford U-Haul truck.

Three Oregon Teens Killed by Drunk Driver

The Jeep driver's blood alcohol content was 0.239 percent when tested.

(SALEM, Ore.) - The Jeep was travelling northeast on Salem Parkway at a high rate of speed when it ran the red light at Cherry AV NE and collided with the Toyota travelling southeast.

All three of the Toyota occupants, 19-year old Trinity Watt, of Salem, 19-year old Madison Capobianco, of Salem and 18-year old Makayla Tryon, of Keizer, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

UPDATE: St. Paul Triple Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has identified the drivers and passenger in this fatal collision.

(ST PAUL, Ore.) - Investigators believe 26-year old Jorge Valdez-Espinoza, of Newberg was driving his Chevy truck west on McKay Road at a high rate of speed when he collided with an eastbound box van, killing Valdez-Espinoza instantly.

The crash also killed the driver of the box van, 33-year old Joseph Ensign-Lewis, of Portland, as well as the passenger in the Chevy truck, 21-year old Leonel Sanchez-Jaimes, of Salem.
