Dallas Man Missing on Willamette River

Today at approximately 11:52 am the Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to a water rescue call on the Willamette River approximately one mile south of the Buena Vista Ferry. Also on scene during the initial response were Marion County Sheriff's Office, Salem Fire, Polk 1 Fire, Jefferson Fire, Albany Fire and the Oregon State Police.

Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 99W South of Monmouth

(Salem, Ore.) -
Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Tuesday morning's fatal traffic crash involving a horse on Highway 99W about 3 miles south of Monmouth in Polk County.
A 30-year old male passenger from Dallas, Oregon and the involved horse were killed.

The Oregon National Guard is scheduled to hold a demobilization ceremony for Soldiers of the 162 Engineer Company, Friday, in Dallas, Oregon
The demobilization ceremony will be held at 817 Church Street, in Dallas, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The street in front of the old 162 Armory will be closed to through traffic.

20-Year Old Son Charged in Parent`s Double Homicide

Autopsy reports confirm that David Scott Jondle died from multiple stabs wounds from a scythe. Marilyn Ruth Jondle died from blunt force trauma as the result of being beaten with a metal pipe, according to reports.
(DALLAS, Ore.) -
Deputies are investigating a double homicide that occurred in Polk County, South of Dallas. In custody for the grisly crime is the dead couple's 20-year old son. Investigators say 61-year old David Scott Jondle, and his wife, 58-year old Marilyn Ruth Jondle, were killed by their son, 20-year old Andrew Jondle.
He is alleged to have visited the property of his parents on Monday night and sometime between 11:00 p.m. Monday night and 2:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, killed both them, taking credit cards and jewelry to use for paying back rent.

Crash Kills Salem Woman on Highway 223 West of Dallas

Police aren't sure why a driver crossed the center line, causing head-on collision.

Police say a 24-year old Salem woman died and four others were seriously injured Sunday night in a head-on crash on Highway 223 near Dallas in Polk County. Oregon State Police troopers are continuing the investigation.

A couple's hilarious wedding video is making big strides on YouTube and in national media. The clip which is titled "waffle wedded wife" begins with a beautiful wedding scene, just before the couple-to-be offers their vows. The title of the clip gives you a clue, but you won't believe what happens.
The proud dad and father-in-law Tim Engstrom, who by the way is officiating the vows for the couple, explained that the wedding began with an organ player who didn't know when to stop playing.
