Investigators Need Public`s Assistance to Find Homicide Victim

(SALEM, Ore.) - Lori Baylock missing poster The Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Bend Police Department are working together on the investigation into the death of Lori Blaylock, a 48-year-old Bend resident.

Ms. Blaylock was reported missing by co-workers when she failed to report for work on November 2nd.

Erratic Winds Push Flames of Scott Mountain Fire

There are a number of related closures.

(SCOTT MOUNTAIN, Oregon) - Scott Mountain Fire photos from August 25, 2010  As seen from Fritz/Wildcat area. The 950-acre Scott Mountain Fire is burning approximately two miles northeast of Scott Mountain, 15 miles west of Sisters, and 14 miles northeast of McKenzie Bridge in the Mt. Washington Wilderness Area.

The interagency Pacific Northwest Incident Management Team 3 has assumed command of this fire. Smoke from the Scott Mountain Fire has impacted and will continue to impact central Oregon and was being reported yesterday as far away as the lower Santiam Canyon area just east of Salem.

Evacuations Ordered In Sisters Due to Black Crater Wildfire (UPDATE)

Heavy fire activity in Deschutes County means some residents have to evacuate. The Black Crater Fire near Sisters is now declared Oregon's second conflagration.

(SISTERS) - Image: Black Crater fire near Sisters The Deschutes County Sheriff and Emergency Services have issued evacuation notices Thursday afternoon to Sisters residents in the Crossroads and Edgington neighborhoods.

A pre-evacuation notice has been issued to residents in the Tollgate neighborhood.

The evacuations are due to the Black Crater wildfire that is burning SW of the small Central Oregon town.
