Two years ago, the infrastructure and human structure of Haiti was ripped apart and crushed by a 7.0 monster earthquake.
The event ripped people apart from their loved ones, many of whom were lost and never found, and created scenarios where the piling up dead threatened disease and were burned en mass with little hesitation and no ceremony.

There has been a dire pattern of abuses in Haiti: in December 2007, more than 100 UN soldiers from Sri Lanka were deported under charges of sexual abuse of under-age girls.

Shocking video of UN soldiers apparently raping a Haitian teenager raises questions about why these 'peacekeepers' are there at all.
Video, edited by ABC News, showing the alleged sexual assault of a young man in Haiti by Minustah (UN) peacekeeping soldiers. The video is profoundly disturbing. It shows four men, identified as Uruguayan troops from the UN mission in Haiti (Minustah), seemingly in the act of raping an 18-year-old Haitian youth.

Last week Baby Doc Duvalier returned to Haiti and the US government said nothing. For readers who might be too young to remember, he, like Papa Doc, his father who preceded him, was a cruel murdering dictator who looted his country of millions.

Why did Baby Doc return to Haiti? Only time will tell. But Haiti and the world should be concerned.

Like a bad penny, Jean-Claude "Baby Doc" Duvalier arrived in Haiti on January 16, 2011. No one seems to know why Baby Doc returned and what effect, if any, his return will have on the country.
Let's look back a bit at Haiti's tragic history. We cannot just blame last year's earthquake, the subsequent cholera epidemic, and hurricane for all the death and destruction in Haiti.

One year ago, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Southern Haiti. 230,000 people were killed and millions more were left injured and homeless.
