2012 Minidoka Pilgrimage June 21 - June 24, 2012

Celebrating our 10th Annual Minidoka Pilgrimage and recognizing the 70th Anniversary signing of Executive Order 9066

(SEATTLE) - Sept '95 photo of ruins of Camp Minidoka in Idaho Seventy years ago, almost 13,000 people of Japanese-ancestry, many of whom were American citizens, were removed from their homes and sent to a desolate “incarceration camp" near Twin Falls, Idaho.

This summer, the 10th pilgrimage will take place with former internees, their families, and friends - from Seattle, Portland and across the nation - to the former Minidoka Camp in Idaho.

Searchers and Law Enforcement Still Working Hard to Find Mark Bosworth

There is a $10,000 reward for information that leads us to Mark.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Find Mark Bosworth Volunteer search and rescue members continued spot checks in Douglas County today, in the search for Mark Bosworth.

A team checked out a couple of areas on Cow Creek Road following a hunch Mark could have wandered that direction. Cow Creek Road stretches to the southwest awa from Riddle and runs along its namesake creek. No sign of Mark was found.

Day of Remembrance 2011 Taiko Festival

The 2nd annual Day of Remembrance Taiko Festival will be held in February.

(SEATTLE) - Minidoka Pilgrimage The “Day of Remembrance” is an annual observance of the signing of Executive Order 9066, when President Franklin D. Roosevelt that ordered 120,000 Americans of Japanese ancestry to be imprisoned in concentration camps during World War II.

Decades later, the order was deemed unconstitutional and was belatedly but dramatically reversed by the passage of the Civil Liberties Act of 1988.

OSP Traffic Stop Leads to 6 Lbs. of Marijuana, Arrest Of Boise, Idaho Woman

(LAKEVIEW, Ore) - Six Pounds of Marijuana seized A Boise, Idaho woman was arrested late Saturday by an Oregon State Police (OSP) trooper with the assistance of Lakeview Police Department during a traffic stop in Lakeview when approximately 6 lbs. of marijuana was found in the vehicle. The OSP Drug Enforcement Section is assisting during the follow-up investigation.

According to OSP Sergeant Steve Yates, on Saturday at approximately 10:55 p.m. an OSP trooper stopped a 2010 Dodge Avenger displaying Idaho license plates on Highway 395 near milepost 143 for an unlawful left turn. The driver was identified as Julianne Nicole Stewart, age 25, from Boise, Idaho.

College of Idaho Edges Warner Pacific, Earns Home Field for Playoff

(Portland, Oregon) - Warner Pacific Knights College of Idaho's Matt Kelley found the net in the 85th minute to stun Warner Pacific 2-1 in the final regular season contest at David Douglas High School today.

With both teams qualified for the Cascade Conference post-season, the result of the contest would determine which squad would serve as host for the semifinal game to be held next Tuesday. The Knights needed a win or a tie to earn the home field, but it was the visiting Yotes (10-7-1, 9-4-1 CCC) that picked up the victory in the final moments.
