56% Favor Legalizing, Regulating Marijuana

The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters nationwide was conducted on May 12, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports.

(WASHINGTON DC) - marijuana leaf A solid majority of voters nationwide favor legalizing and regulating marijuana similar to the way alcohol and tobacco cigarettes are currently regulated.

Most also don’t believe it should be a crime for people to smoke marijuana in the privacy of their own homes.

VA to Increase Mental Health Staff by 1,900

“We ask that you urge Veterans in your communities to reach out and connect with VA services.” - Dr. Robert Petzel

(WASHINGTON DC) - Veterans mental health Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki today announced that the department would add approximately 1,600 mental health clinicians.

This includes nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers as well as nearly 300 support staff to its existing workforce of 20,590 mental health staff.

Springfield Man Arrested For Causing Injury Motorcycle Crash on Hwy 126W

A ill-mannered driver nearly costs a biker his life.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - biker safety Today, Oregon State Police arrested the driver of a vehicle that caused a motorcyclist to lose control and crash along Highway 126W west of Veneta early Sunday evening.

66-year old Valentin Camarillo, from Roseburg, was riding his 1997 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound in a group of four motorcycles when a vehicle came up from behind them.

East Bound Lanes of Hwy 22W Near Rosemont Exit in Salem Closed Due to Vehicle-Pedestrian Collision

The eastbound lanes of Hwy 22W were re-opened at 11:15 p.m.

(SALEM) - Traffic during pedestrian crash in Salem, Oregon At 8;41 P.M., officers of the Salem Police Department responded to Hwy 22W near the Rosemont Exit on a report of a male running in traffic attempting to get struck by passing motorists.

Lieutenant Keith A. Blair with the Salem Police Department's Patrol Division, says additional reports indicated that citizens were attempting to subdue the male to prevent him from continuing his actions.

A sucker punch to the guts...

(MOLALLA, OR) - Officers and PTSD I could not believe that the military, Army, Navy, Marine Corps & Air Force and VA could be more viciously cruel than they have been to our war veterans. The VVA, Vietnam Veterans of America, have finally been able to get into the cesspool of the records of this continuing mind destroying practice against ALL of our PTSD destroyed, battle veterans.

They actually found that the Navy and Air Force were the worst offenders. After the egregious scandal at Fort Lewis, Washington, it’s difficult to believe that things could be worse.

(MOLALLA, OR) - U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Robert Bales stands accused of having murdered 16 Afghan civilians. As a former Private front-line Combat Infantryman with a college degree I am extremely troubled by what appears to be going on now in the Army.

It was bad enough for me and my buddies and I in WWII but this sounds toxic with more lethal consequences in present Army camps than we are having in two current wars.
