Land of the Free Continues to Black Out Popular Websites for U.S. Military

American troops are asked to fight and die for the freedom of other nations while the government strips them of their own.

(FORT BENNING, Georgia) - MySpace We reported on May 16th 2007 that the U.S. government appeared to be on the verge of relaxing its complete blackout of MySpace and YouTube on all U.S. military computers. I can tell you over one year later that it apparently never happened.

It seems unusual that the Department of Defense would continue this ridiculous information "blackout" at a time that we are asking so much from these brave warriors.

Prosecutors Indict Woman in MySpace Cyberbully / Suicide Case

Missouri authorities have been investigating, but they have opted not to charge Lori Drew. The federal authorities in California are the first to move forward with legal charges.

(LOS ANGELES) - Megan Meier A Los Angeles federal Grand Jury indicted a Missouri mother whose actions through an online hoax may have led to a 13-year-old girl's suicide.

Lori Drew is alleged to have become closely involved in her teen daughter's love life, and that may be where the problems began. Prosecutors say she helped create a false MySpace page to contact Megan Meier who thought she was talking with a 16-year-old boy named "Josh Evans."

Teens Arrested Over Beating Posted on MySpace, YouTube (VIDEO)

The attackers told police they were upset with some "trash talk" the victim posted on her MySpace page.

(LAKELAND, Fla. ) - MySpace beating Six Polk County, Florida teenagers are accused of beating a 16-year-old girl, recording the attack and posting it on the popular social networking site MySpace and YouTube.

Victoria Lindsay was attacked on March 30 by six teenage girls when she arrived at a friend's home, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said. At one point in the video, Lindsay was knocked unconscious, and was later seen pleading to be let out of the house.

Today she was featured on NBC's Today Show live, talking about the recent struggle to retain her office in spite of the fallout from the photos, in this small, conservative eastern Oregon city.

Arlington Mayor Gets Recalled, Turns to Ebay

142 people in Arlington voted in favor of the recall, while 139 voted against it.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Carmen Kontur Gronquist The Mayor of Arlington, Oregon, Carmen Kontur Gronquist, has been recalled from office over a photo she posted of herself on her personal MySpace page. The photo showed her wearing what appears to be lingerie, or possibly a two piece bathing suit.

The photo had been taken before her election to office, but that didn't stop the townspeople in this conservative eastern Oregon city from recalling her from office over it. Some cited the fact that the picture was taken by a city fire.

Missing California Teenager Recovered Safe in Southern Oregon

The suspect has been charged with Kidnap with Intent to Rape, police believe he may have met the girl on MySpace.

(CENTRAL POINT, Ore.) - 37-year old David Anthony Faboo of Hillsboro, Oregon Oregon State Police, working in cooperation with Yuba County Sheriff's Office and Wheatland Police Department, safely recovered a missing 16-year old girl Sunday in southern Oregon.

An Oregon man was taken into custody during the traffic stop in the Grants Pass area and is presently held on criminal charges filed in California that have raised his bail amount well above one million dollars.
