Serious Injury Traffic Crash - Highway 229 North of Toledo

Police cautioning travelers to slow down and be alert for unexpected icy condition on roads that appear to be dry.
(TOLEDO, Ore.) -
Three people were injured, one seriously, in a two vehicle head-on crash Friday afternoon on Highway 229 about six miles north of Toledo.
This crash happened on Highway 229 near milepost 26 when a driver lost control on an icy stretch after passing other vehicles, fishtailed and then traveled into the oncoming lane colliding head-on with an approaching car.

ODOT Employee Struck by Car on Highway 26 (PHOTOS)

The victim came to rest outside his ODOT Vehicle with a sign flashing, "DO NOT PASS", "COULD BE UP TO A 15 MINUTE WAIT" and "WET PAINT".
(IRONSIDE, Ore.) -
State Police say an Oregon Department of Transportation employee was struck Wednesday on Highway 26 just east of Ironside, Oregon at approximately 1:00 p.m.
Police say 57-year old Mike Bowen of Elgin, Oregon, was hit by a passing vehicle after getting out of his state vehicle, which was the rear pilot car on a painting crew that was striping the highway near Ironside.

Polk County Seeks Alleged Rapist Michael J. Bowers‏

Investigators say Bowers is a registered sex offender and has been under supervision by the Lincoln County Parole and Probation Department.
(DALLAS, Ore.) -
Investigators with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, along with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, responded to a report of a kidnapping and sexual assault in the Green Mountain area, a rural part of S.W. Polk County, on November 14th 2008.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 41-year old Michael Joe Bowers for first-degree Attempted Rape, first-degree Sodomy, first-degree Kidnapping, Felon in Possession of a weapon, and second-degree Assault, in connection with that incident.
Bowers, who stands five foot eight inches tall and weighs 200 pounds, lives and frequents the Siletz, Oregon area.

Marijuana Bust May be Biggest in Lincoln County History

A tip from Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish & Wildlife troopers on boat patrol along the Siletz River led the Lincoln Interagency Narcotics Team (LINT) to locate what is believed to be the largest marijuana grow operation discovered in Lincoln County. One person was arrested, and additional arrests may be pending.
On Thursday, two OSP Fish & Wildlife troopers were on boat patrol along the Siletz River when they noted a strong odor of marijuana coming from property bordering the river with two buildings about 250 feet from the water.
The troopers provided the information to members of the Lincoln Interagency Narcotics Team.
On Friday, April 7th, LINT, along with members of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Lincoln City Police Department and OSP served a search warrant on the property, located at 17178 Siletz Highway...
