Washington Man Takes Own Life after Standoff with Oregon Police

At Least Two Hurt in Vancouver Health Complex Shooting

The reported suspect is apparently in custody, he was taken down by security guards

(VANCOUVER) - Salem-News.com A gunman opened fire in Vancouver, Washington. Northwest Cable News (NWCN) reports that tt least two people have been shot. Police say it happened at a government facility in Clark County late this afternoon.

According to Northwest Cable News, The shooting happened at a health complex that includes the Veteran's Hospital in the 1600 block of East Fourth Plain Boulevard, just before 4 p.m., according to Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.

Vancouver Police Officer Involved in Shooting

An investigation into the shooting continues.

(VANCOUVER, WA) - Shooting investigation Saturday, members of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, were attempting to locate and contact a wanted felony suspect, Jesse J. France, DOB 11/16/62, at an apartment complex located in the 7500 block of E 18th Street.

The Beat Within Makes a Difference in Vancouver

Each week the juveniles in this program are given several topics to inspire their creativity and help them work through the rough patches in their lives.

(VANCOUVER, Wa.) - The Beat Within During the past several weeks I have had the opportunity to volunteer my time working with incarcerated youth through a program called The Beat Within.

This program encourages juveniles to express themselves through poetry, writing, and artwork. The Beat Within compiles these submissions into a magazine for other juveniles and the public to read.

Accidental Shooting in Clark County Residence

(VANCOUVER, Wash.) - Shooting investigation logo This morning at 2:52am Clark County Sheriff Deputies and Vancouver Police responded to an possible suicide/accidental shooting that had just occurred 4200 block of NE 38th Street Vancouver.

Deputies and Officers arrived to find a 25 year old male deceased in a back bedroom. The deceased had a single gun shot wound to the head. The residence was occupied by numerous adults who had been consuming alcohol at the time of the shooting.

Qualifiers Announced for NAIA Cross Country National Championships at Fort Vancouver

Seven CCC Teams, Led by No. 1 Southern Oregon Men and No. 7 Concordia Women, Included in Field

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) - Cascade Collegiate Conference The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the team and individual qualifiers for the 2010 NAIA Men’s and Women’s Cross Country National Championships on Monday. The 55th Annual Men’s and 31st Annual Women’s event will take place at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington, on Saturday, Nov. 20. The women’s 5K run is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. PST, followed by the men’s 8K at 11:45 a.m.

Admission to the championships is free. The event is being co-hosted by the Cascade Collegiate Conference and Concordia University (Oregon).

Oregon Air National Guard to Take Part in Veterans Day Flyovers Around the State

(SALEM, Oregon) - 173d Fighter Wing F-15 The Oregon Air National Guard will conduct Veterans Day flyovers for various ceremonies at locations throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.

F-15 Eagle fighter jets from the 142nd Fighter Wing in Portland and the 173rd Fighter Wing at Kingsley Field are scheduled to conduct flyovers at the following locations and approximate times:

All passes will be approximately 1,000 feet above ground level and 350 knots airspeed. Flights could be cancelled or times changed due to inclement weather or operational contingencies.
