Minor Injury, Multi-Vehicle Crash - Interstate 5 South of Wilsonville

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - Salem-News.com One person received minor injuries Friday afternoon during one of six traffic crashes that happened nearly simultaneously involving a total of 15 vehicles northbound on Interstate 5 south of Wilsonville. Oregon State Police (OSP) and Clackamas County Sheriff's Office are completing the investigations and two lanes remain closed while tow vehicles are enroute to remove them.

Train Hits Tractor-Trailer Stuck on Tracks Near Wilsonville

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - train severed the rear of the trailer A train owned by Portland and Western Railroad struck a tractor trailer truck that had become stuck on railroad tracks near Wilsonville this morning. No-one was injured.

TVF&R firefighters were dispatched to 11220 SW Tonquin Road at 1:43 a.m. after a neighbor reported hearing the crash. Firefighters from TVF&R's Wilsonville Station 56 arrived minutes later to find that a train had sheared off the back of a tractor trailer.

Author Pamela Aiden Speaks at the Wilsonville Public Library

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - Author Pamela Aiden speaks at a reception in her honor at the Wilsonville Public Library. A public reception in honor of Pamela Aidan, a popular author of Jane Austen-style books, was given yesterday by the Wilsonville Public Library Foundation.

Emeritus Professor John Ehrstine who has taught a popular series of literature classes at the Wilsonville Public Library invited Ms Aidan to speak to his class. Ms. Aidan traveled to Wilsonville from her home in Idaho.

Wilsonville DUII Crash Injures Two

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - 2006 Nissan 350Z on SW Ellingsen Road near Wilsonville Late Wednesday night an Estacada man was driving his 2006 Nissan 350Z on SW Ellingsen Road near Wilsonville. The Driver, 24-year old Steven Decious, failed to negotiate a curve in the road and rolled his vehicle injuring himself and his passenger.

At 11:25pm on Wednesday, Washington County Deputies were dispatched to SW Ellingsen Road near Wilsonville for a single vehicle crash. Upon arrival, deputies found the 2006 Nissan in a field on the vehicles roof.

Police Release Preliminary Information in Fatal Traffic Crash Near Wilsonville

53-year old Linda Marie Trethewy was pronounced deceased at the scene.

(WILSONVILLE, Ore.) - Oregon State Police troopers, with the assistance of the interagency Clackamas County area crash investigation team, are investigating into Wednesday morning's fatal traffic crash that occurred south of Wilsonville on Interstate 5.

According to OSP Lieutenant Jason Bledsoe, this morning at approximately 5:15 a.m. a group of vehicles were northbound on Interstate 5 approaching milepost 282 in the area of a highway work zone where signs were displayed indicating an upcoming lane restriction.

Police Arrest Two for Conspiracy to Trade Drugs for Sex at Coffee Creek Prison

Detectives believe the two sets of crimes were not connected.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Coffee Creek Correctional Facility Oregon State Police detectives arrested two former Coffee Creek Correctional Facility maintenance employees Monday for conspiracy to trade drugs or illegal contraband for sexual favors with female inmates.

OSP Detective Patti Rhodes and Detective Jon Harrington arrested 37-year old Richard Kaleo Rick of Beaverton Monday on an outstanding felony arrest warrant for first-degree Custodial Sexual Misconduct, Unlawful Delivery of Heroin, Unlawful Delivery of Methamphetamine and two counts of Supplying Contraband.

Police Call Early Morning Crash a Reminder for Drivers to Lookout for Highway Crews and Vehicles

Oregon State Police cited the commercial truck operator for Careless Driving.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Oregon truck crash 12-30-08 Even though the snow and ice has mostly disappeared, police say a crash early Tuesday morning is a reminder of the need to watch for highway maintenance workers and vehicles as they work to keep our area roads safe to travel on.

This morning at approximately 3:45 PM, three ODOT maintenance vehicles were involved in sweeping loose sanding material in the far right southbound lane of Interstate 5 near milepost 286 north of Wilsonville.

State Police officials say an ODOT dump truck operated by 53-year old Kenton W. Brenner was at the rear of the slow-moving maintenance vehicles with flashing amber lights and directional arrows displayed to move rear approaching traffic to the center and left southbound lanes.
