Woodburn High School: Scene of Three Alarm Fire, all Students Evacuated

Parents should rest assured that by all accounts the students and employees are safe.

(WOODBURN, OR) - Salem-News.com A very serious fire broke out at Oregon's Woodburn High School this morning. From all reports there were no injuries. Students have been evacuated from the premises and we are told it was an orderly event and that students and staff acted in a safe manner.

It is too soon to know what started the fire, or all of the circumstances.

Woodburn Man Dies From Fall at Silver Falls State Park

Preliminary investigation indicates Daniel Bonham slipped while hiking and fell about 100 feet to where he was found.

(SALEM) - Death investigation 56-year old Daniel Frank Bonham of Woodburn, died Friday night after apparently slipping and falling to his death while hiking in Silver Falls State Park.

Oregon State Police (OSP), with the assistance of Marion County Sheriffs Office and the medical examiner, are continuing the investigation. Mr. Bonham's body was recovered Saturday morning.

Occupiers explain that the intent is to maintain a symbolic “Occupation” of the Capitol building as long as the Legislature is in secession.

Two Die from Crash into Tow Truck on Highway 211

The crash left the highway blocked at milepost 7.5, between Kropf Road and Barlow Rd., east of Woodburn.

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - Fatal crash in Oregon 2-5-12 Oregon State Police responded to a fatal traffic crash Sunday evening on Highway 211 near S. Kropf Road. This is the highway connecting Molalla and Woodburn.

Senior Trooper Duane Larson with Oregon State Police, told Salem-News.com, "It was a two-vehicle crash, two vehicles involved, one vehicle sustained two fatalities."

OSP Detectives Arrest St. Helens Man For Sex Crimes

Hinkle was a formerly employed as a Columbia County Sheriff's Deputy.

(Woodburn, Oregon) - Former Columbia County deputy John Lawrence Hinkle Oregon State Police (OSP) Criminal Investigations Division detectives arrested a St. Helens man today on multiple sex crimes.

According to Detective Matt Beeson, allegations of sex abuse were made on Thursday May 5th. An investigation began and today at approximately 8:00 PM, an arrest was made in Woodburn.

Details initially were sketchy because the 911 call had been received by NORCOM (Woodburn) dispatchers and then relayed to W.V.C.C. (Marion County) dispatchers.

Fatal Pedestrian-Involved Traffic Crash - Highway 99E South of Woodburn

(Woodburn, Oregon) - Fatal Crash investigation logo Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Saturday night's fatal pedestrian-involved traffic crash along Highway 99E just south of Woodburn. The victim's name and residence information is being withheld while troopers try to locate and notify next of kin.

According to OSP Sergeant Corey Simons, on April 16, 2011 at approximately 8:27 p.m. a witness driving southbound on Highway 99E near milepost 33 braked to avoid a pedestrian in a dark, unlit area who ran across the highway toward the west side shoulder. A 2005 Dodge Neon driven by Robert Moore, age 56, from Woodburn, was following behind the witness and swerved toward the highway shoulder to avoid a rear-end collision and struck the pedestrian.
