There is no doubt that the video 'Kony 2012' by the advocacy group Invisible Children has raised much awareness of the under-reported atrocities committed by the Ugandan rebel group the LRA.
It is also true that the video, which boasts of over 80 million views on YouTube so far, has been subjected to much - I think fair – scrutiny.

Amazingly, the message failed to register in the minds of the Republican candidates now vying for votes as nominees. YouTube chose to ignore a question Monday, advocating marijuana legalization from a retired LAPD deputy chief of police.
The question won twice as many votes as any other video question in the White House's "Your Interview with the President" competition on the Google-owned site.

YouTube may have yanked the wrong guy's... video.
(BANGKOK / SALEM) -
YouTube may be acting illegally by taking down videos for alleged copyright infringement, ignoring important factors regarding Fair Use as provided for in copyright law.
In August 2008, U.S. District Judge Jeremy Fogel of San Jose, California ruled that copyright holders cannot order a deletion of an online file without determining whether that posting reflected "fair use" of the copyrighted material.
