Pakistan Says Afghanistan `Overreacts` to Cross-Border Shelling

Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister Jawed Ludin reportedly stated on Wednesday that “the depth of Pakistan’s complacency” in the Afghan peace process has “shocked” and “disappointed” his country.

US Hands Full Control of Bagram Prison to Afghanistan

The U.S. partly handed over the high-security prison and around 3,000 suspected Taliban fighters to Afghan control last year.

(BAGRAM VOA News) - Bagram Air Base Afghanistan Afghanistan has taken full control of a controversial detention center from the United States. Bagram military prison was handed over to Afghanistan in a ceremony Monday.

5 US Troops Killed in Afghan Helicopter Crash

The cause of the crash is being investigated.

(KANDAHAR VOA) - Helicopter door gunner U.S. officials say five American members of the NATO-led coalition force died when their helicopter crashed in Kandahar, southern Afghanistan.

Local officials said there were no survivors of the crash, which took place Monday during a heavy rainstorm. Those authorities say there was no enemy activity in the area at the time.
