The Ground Zero Mosque Lies
Commentary by Gordon Duff Salem-News.com
Let’s get some facts straight.
(CINCINNATI ) -
There never were plans for a mosque at “ground zero.” The entire story is made up by a public relations agency working with the Israeli government and the GOP. There are plans for an Islamic center in an old Burlington Coat Factory store blocks away. That far down the island of Manhattan, a couple blocks away is “across town.”
The idea that Israel is financing the “Ground Zero Mosque” controversy when Mossad agents were arrested, dancing in the streets on 9/11, is an obscenity.

Who is More Guilty of Monumental War Crimes: the Prime-Movers or Trigger Pullers?
Zahir Ebrahim Salem-News.com
The system is not only broken, it was crippled at birth.
(WASHINGTON D.C.) -
There is something inherently gone wrong in a nation when its brightest and most moral peoples become inexplicably limited in their conceptionalization of the social discourse, and their moral discourse.
But of course, even Noam Chomsky is afraid of the charge otherwise, of 'conspiracy theorist', for even he, as “arguably the most important intellectual alive”, prefers to assert that a monk in the Hindu Kush orchestrated 911.

Traditional dress for Muslim women?
(SAN FRANCISCO) -
On our Iran Air flight from Frankfurt to Tehran, each of the stewardesses wore a "hijab." When we entered Iran's airspace, an announcement over the intercom told the women to put on their hijab or a head scarf.
My wife, as did the other women on the flight, obliged by putting scarves on their heads. My wife wore a scarf covering her hair for our entire Iran visit.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE STATISTICS????

Berlusconi Stops Short of Copying Obama`s Suntan
Belén Fernandez Salem-News.com
Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said it would be ‘best’ for the country’s troops to leave Afghanistan as soon as possible after six were killed in a car bombing in Kabul.
(ROME) -
The July 28 deaths of two Italian soldiers in Herat, Afghanistan—occurring shortly after the most recent Wikileaks deluge—prompted an article entitled “Obama’s ‘Just War’ is Already Lost” in the Italian daily La Repubblica, in which Italy’s involvement in said conflict is described as follows:
"We Italians are in Afghanistan for America. But the Americans are no longer sure about the reasons they thought they were there… Our [other] allies have understood this and… [are] all in search of a way out and an exit date from the Afghan trap. As for us, we remain hitched to a crazed convoy with various derailed [components]."

In Support of President Obama
Ralph E. Stone Salem-News.com
Unfortunately, there is little media attention given to how much he has done in his first 17 months in office.
(SAN FRANCISCO) -
I voted for Barack Obama for president because I saw him as left of center. Obama's record as an Illinois state senator (1997-2004) and his short time as a U.S. Senator (2005-2008) provided me with little or no evidence that he was a progressive or a far-left liberal.

Great American Heroes: Ho Chi Minh, Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden
Tim King Salem-News.com
Each worked closely with the US military, where's the appreciation?
(SALEM, Ore.) -
I'd wager that many people looked at the title to this story and assumed this is some tongue-in-cheek notion I came up with for shock value; after all those guys - being American heroes? You would be fair to think I've been out in the sun a little too long.
This might be my most offbeat tribute ever. 'Uncle Ho', Hussein and bin Laden; all men who ended up on America's most hated list before their time was through, but the title is true to form and is really unfortunate, and uncomfortable. Each was an ally for US missions and interests overseas.

John McCain: A Closer Look at Evil (Part 2)
Political Commentary by Jeff Gates Salem-News.com
McCain's future is uncertain, but the consistency of his behavior ensures his eventual exposure.
(TEMPE, Az.) -
The political genealogy of Arizona Senator John McCain is firmly rooted in organized crime. Gus Greenbaum, an influential mobster, was close to Meyer Lansky in New York before going to work for the Chicago Outfit. In 1928, Greenbaum moved to Phoenix.
In 1941, Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel became enamored with Nevada as a center for gambling and prostitution. With Lansky’s help, syndicate operatives advanced funds to build the Flamingo, a gambling resort named after Virginia Hill, a nightclub dancer, mob courier and Siegel’s lover.
