For its part, AIM has defended the care it provides to adult performers; stating that claims are “not truthful and are self-serving."

Officials closed a health clinic that serves the adult film industry there, shuttering the Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation two days after the state Health Department said it will not license the facility as a community clinic.
The clinic was served with a cease-and-desist order. The clinic posted on its website a message that it would be open for business Dec. 10.

Last month MSNBC reported that a toxic plume of chromium has spread to numerous groundwater wells in a California desert town made famous by actress Julia Roberts in the Erin Brockovich movie.
According to the article, regulators have reported increasing concentrations of chromium that had been discharged decades ago in wells near the town of Hinkley.

Last October my wife and I happened to be in Berlin on German Unity Day (Einheits Tag). The German Capitol City was in a party mood with tchotchke vendors and food booths and temporary beer and soft drink kiosks set up all along the Scheidemann Strasse.
The autumn weather was perfect while we listened to the symphony orchestra practicing Beethoven’s Third and Ninth Symphonies. After munching on currywurst and fisch semmels and drinking a couple of half liters of locally brewed pils beer we headed off to explore more of the city.
