California Woman Leads Oregon Police on High Speed Chase

The attempt to elude ended when OSP troopers stopped her vehicle using a tactical vehicle intervention technique.

(CENTRAL POINT, Ore. ) - Oregon High Speed Chase Oregon State Police troopers arrested a 22-year old California woman Tuesday afternoon following her attempt to elude police northbound on Interstate 5 between Central Point and Sunny Valley.

At approximately 12:31 p.m., OSP Southern Command Center dispatch received a citizen's driving complaint of a recklessly driven passenger car northbound on Interstate 5 in the Medford area.

Christmas and Hanukkah’s Festival of Lights are times of joy and celebration, but this season is also a time of introspection and humility. We who have sound minds and bodies have reason to be most grateful. Not everyone has been so blessed.

Those Oregonians who suffer from mental illness carry burdens others cannot fathom. Sometimes mentally ill patients are anti-social and need patience and understanding.

ODFW: Public Meetings On Revised Dog and Raptor Training Rules

Death Investigation Near Central Point Continues

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact Oregon State Police Southern Command Center at (800) 442-2068.

(CENTRAL POINT) - Investigators are releasing the photograph of 47-year old Darin Lynn Drake, a of homicide victim whose body was discovered Friday morning in a field about 100 feet west
of Interstate 5 near the Central Point interchange.

Investigators hope the photograph release will help the public with providing information related to this investigation.

Atkinson Participates in New Orleans Relief Efforts

(NEW ORLEANS, La.) - State Senator Jason Atkinson (R-Central Point) and his wife Stephanie spent the past several days in New Orleans aiding families who continue to struggle in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Atkinson is participating in the outreach effort as part of a national program that recognizes some of America`s top young elected leaders.

"This is one of the greatest civic challenges our country has faced,` Atkinson said. `My heart is forever changed experiencing the devastation of these Americans. I hope the rest of our country continues to rebuild this great city."

Atkinson, who returned to Oregon late Monday, says they stayed busy during their trip visiting with aid groups, touring the hurricane`s devastation and pitching in to help.

(CENTRAL POINT) - Oregon State Senator and candidate for Governor Jason Atkinson Oregon State Senator and candidate for Governor Jason Atkinson today welcomed the endorsement of his candidacy by the Oregon Farm Bureau Federation. The Farm Bureau is the state's largest general agriculture organization.
