Bow Hunter in Custody Following Death of Hunting Partner

Pekarek attempted to render aid to Cummings and then called 911.

(LA PINE, Ore.) - Pekarek was a passenger in the vehicle and he exited the vehicle with his bow to attempt a shot at the deer. Cummings exited the vehicle with his bow and remained on the road.

Michael Pekarek briefly saw the deer and was ready to fire his arrow at the deer, but it moved out of view...

Lafayette Man Killed and Three Injured in Head on Crash

Contributing factors are still under investigation.

(LAFAYETTE, Ore.) - One man was killed and three others injured about 2:40 am, early Sunday morning. The two vehicle crash happened on Highway 99W at milepost 31.5, near Lafayette.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 1997 Toyota Camry was traveling southbound Highway 99W when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a northbound 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Polk County Grand Jury Finds Officer Involved Shooting Justified

Joshua Bolster's death has been a controversial subject since it happened.

(DALLAS, Ore.) - Today a Polk County Grand Jury unanimously found that Polk County Sheriff's Deputy Casey Gibson was justified in using deadly force when he shot and killed 29-year old Joshua Anthony Bolster on the evening of July 5, 2016.

At approximately 9:18 p.m. that fateful night, Monmouth Police Department officers responded to a complaint from a citizen that a man, later determined to be Joshua Anthony Bolster, had threatened him with a knife that same evening.

(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) - Recently I attended an FDA Advisory Committee meeting where a new killer opioid called Arymo ER was under consideration to be unleashed in the U.S.

Lynn R. Webster, MD gave testimony and answered questions regarding the controversial extended release morphine tablet...when he had an expired license. The Advisory Committee may want to reconsider their recommendation of Arymo ER because they appear to have been misled (whether deliberately or not) and this could fall under the category of "unethical" or "criminal".

One Killed and One Seriously Injured After Police Chase on Hwy 30

Police say they had stopped chasing him before the crash.

(ST HELENS, Ore.) - A Scappoose City Police officer attempted to pull over a 2004 Toyota Highlander in relation to a driving complaint on Highway 30 at about 12:54 p.m. The operator of the Toyota Highlander initially pulled over and then fled the stop westbound.

Three minutes later, after the pursuit had been terminated, the Toyota crashed into the back of a westbound 2012 Honda Civic.

Man Killed in Train v. Pedestrian Crash

The man had been sitting in the middle of the railroad tracks with his back toward the train.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Just before 7:00 a.m. this morning, an Amtrak train northbound at 34 mph struck a pedestrian approximately 250 yards north of Market Street NE.

When the engineer spotted him they put the train into emergency braking and sounded the horn, but the individual did not move and the train was unable to stop in time.

Waldport Man Killed in Head-On Crash North of Florence

About 8:46 a.m. there was a report of a two-vehicle, head-on collision on Highway 101 near milepost 174.

(FLORENCE, Ore.) - OSP Troopers and emergency crews responded to a head on crash Sunday morning about 14 miles north of Florence.

Police say a 2008 Honda CRV operated by 92-year old Eugene Earl Weigant, of Waldport, was traveling northbound when it crossed the center line striking a 1994 Chevrolet Imperial Van operated by 23-year old Tanner Dickinson, of Columbus, Ohio, head-on, according to the preliminary investigation. Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage.

Marijuana Robbery Leaves One Man Dead in North Salem

Three are behind bars as detectives investigate the fatal shooting.

(SALEM, Ore.) - A report of shots fired brought officers to the 4800 block of Jean Court Northeast Monday morning, just after 8 a.m. When they arrived, they found one man with a single gunshot wound to the head, apparently an armed robbery-gone-wrong.

Two suspects were on the run nearly 24 hours.

Two Killed In Highway 213 Crash North of Silverton

A pickup crossed the centerline and cost two lives.

(SILVERTON, Ore.) - Preliminary investigation revealed a 2003 Toyota Sienna van was traveling southbound when it drifted off the roadway, lost control and came back onto the highway.

The Toyota crossed the centerline at an angle where it was struck on the passenger side by a northbound 1999 Acura sedan.
