Mandela was labeled as a “terrorist” and sentenced to prison for twenty-seven years. Even though Mandela was elected President of South Africa in 1994 and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, his name was not removed from the “Terrorist Watch List” by the US Government until 2008.

It was a busy day at Arlington National Cemetery.
There was a total of 143,000 wreaths place in Arlington National Cemetery on Saturday, December 14, 2013. This is Section 60 and it took almost two hours to place the hand made wreaths from the Worcester Wreath Company of Harrington, Maine.

I should not be shocked over my own personal reaction to this news I suppose, but it hurts and it makes me very sad. It isn't the loss specifically; this great man more than did his part while living on this earth. It is quite honestly, the lack of men like him that makes me shudder.

It is with the deepest regret that we have learned of the passing of our founder, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela – Madiba. The Presidency of the Republic of South Africa will shortly make further official announcements.
