Petition Drive to Help Fukushima Residents forced by Japan to Enter Nuclear Contamination Area

Following the recent SOS from Fukushima families...

(FUKUSHIMA / SALEM) - Fukushima Japan There now is a petition in Japan to evacuate the people from Fukushima Prefecture. We reported over the weekend the tragic plight of residents being turned out of shelters and instructed to return to their homes in the affected area.

And by the way, I have been staying true to these stories about petition drives and signing them before publishing, to ensure the integrity of the process. The form is written partly in English and partly in Japanese, but easy to follow.

Israeli Sex Suspect Accused of Blackmailing Young American Girls

I am left wondering whether Israel can possibly produce any good news.

(LONDON) - US and Israel flags Y-Net reported this morning about the arrest of an Israeli man on suspicion of blackmailing some 100 US girls. The Israeli man was detained on suspicion of hacking the computers of the girls and threatening to circulate their intimate photos, unless they perform indecent acts on their webcam.

Almost 100 girls aged 12 to 17 were among the victims. . The Israel manĀ  is believed to have hacked their computers, seeking embarrassing photographs and later approaching them on online social networks and threatening them.

Wildfire Still Threatening Los Alamos Nuclear Facility

The lab has announced that it will remain closed Wednesday.

(LOS ALAMOS, N.M. Accuweather) - Los Alamos fire AccuWeather.com reports the weather will remain troublesome for crews battling the wildfire threatening Los Alamos National Laboratory in northern New Mexico over the next few days.

Although an increase in humidity early Tuesday morning has been a short-term benefit, a storm system passing by to the north will kick up daily rounds of gusty winds through Thursday.

Oregon Legislature Unanimously Passes HJM 28 to Protect the Northwest from Additional Nuclear Waste

HJM 28 passed through both chambers unanimously.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Nuclear Faces The Oregon Legislature gave final unanimous approval to HJM 28 on Wednesday, urging the US Dept. of Energy to remove the Hanford Nuclear Reservation from their list of candidate sites for national permanent disposal of radioactive waste.

The US Dept. of Energy is currently considering Hanford as a candidate site for Greater-than-Class-C nuclear waster disposal.
