Water Stations To Open in Salem and Turner

There are several sites to fill up your containers with good water.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem water sites Free drinking water will be available at multiple locations throughout Marion and Polk counties tonight. The water distribution operation is a cooperative effort between Marion County, City of Salem, and the Oregon Military Department.

Once they begin, the sites will operate around the clock until further notice. All bulk water distribution locations are pull-through. Residents must bring their own containers. There is a 5 gallon limit per vehicle.

Head-on Fatal Crash with Pacific Power Truck on Hwy 199

This crash is still under investigation.

(GRANTS PASS, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Today at approximately 8:48 AM, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two vehicle crash on US Hwy 199 near milepost 5, just south of Grants Pass in Josephine County.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2004 Ford F150 was travelling north on US Hwy 199 when, for unknown reasons, it veered into oncoming lanes and crashed into a southbound Pacific Power utility truck head-on.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Based on test results received today, the City of Salem will be maintaining the Vulnerable Population Water Advisory until further notice.

Tap water is safe for consumption for healthy children over the age of six and healthy adults. Further information regarding water distribution and assistance will be released shortly in a separate update.

Thousands of Oregonians Frightened by Emergency Alert Issued Without Explanation

What does "Prepare for Action" mean, anyway?

(SALEM, Ore.) - emergency message The alert said there was a "civil emergency", yet gave no indication as to what type of emergency it was or what citizens should do. It was an amazing lack of information from an agency whose entire mission is to share information.

People outside of Salem as far as Sherwood, Willamina and Eugene were taken aback with the erroneous message of could-be imminent doom. As it turns out, it was a water alert. Not North Korea.

One Dead, Two Injured in Crash Near Molalla

Speed may have been a contributing factor in the fatal crash

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - Molalla fatal Witnesses called 911 Monday at 12:49 p.m., directing authorities to the 12000 block of S Dart Rd. in unincorporated Molalla, where a vehicle had left the roadway and rolled several times before coming to a rest.

Dispatchers were told that the three occupants of the vehicle all appeared to be seriously injured.

Senator Cory Booker's Marijuana Justice Act would remove marijuana from the list of controlled substances, making it legal at the federal level.

Merkley has been a leader within in the Senate on several marijuana-related issues, spearheading bipartisan efforts to enable banks to serve legal cannabis businesses so they don’t have to operate in all cash, and to empower VA doctors to advise veterans on marijuana use in medical marijuana states.

Quadruple Fatal Crash Interstate 5 near Rice Hill

Witnesses are being sought that saw the red Acura driving the wrong way on the freeway.

(DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore.) - fatal crash investigation A red Acura Integra was southbound on Interstate 5 when for unknown reasons turned around and went northbound in the southbound lanes, colliding nearly head-on with a southbound Nissan Murano.

The two vehicles became engulfed in fire after the collision. Drivers of both vehicles died from injuries sustained in the crash and two passengers that were removed from the Nissan Murano also succumbed to their injuries.

Motorcyclist and Passenger Hit and Killed by Drunk Driver (UPDATED)

Another DUI double-fatal crash that could have been avoided by simply not getting behind the wheel.

(JACKSON COUNTY, Ore.) - double fatal motorcycle Saturday night about 8:30, Oregon State Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two vehicle crash on Highway 234 near Eagle Point in Jackson County.

According to police, a black Harley Davidson was traveling eastbound with a passenger when a silver Ford Mustang collided nearly head-on with the motorcycle.
