On Saturday, May 7, 2016, nearly 300 cities worldwide, including Portland, Oregon, will participate in the 17th Annual Global Cannabis March.
We march to stand in solidarity for cannabis consumer rights. While marijuana may be legal under state law, it is still illegal under federal law. We march to effect change on the federal level. We march for the right of employees to use marijuana in their off hours, just as employees can consume alcohol in their off hours. We march so renters can consume marijuana in their own homes without fear of eviction...
The 2016 Legislature expanded "early sales" of limited marijuana products from Oregon's medical marijuana dispensaries.

Oregon voters passed Measure 91 in 2014, allowing recreational use of marijuana by adults 21+. Nearly immediately, the more than 70,000 legal patients in the state felt the impact of the measure on the medical program.
Here is the latest update from the Oregon Health Authority, explaining what dispensaries can expect as they open up more “early sales” for recreational customers, allowing them to purchase additional products before recreational stores are open.
April 16-17, 2016 will see the return of the THC Fair at the Oregon State Fairgrounds & Expo.

Reversing his original order in a case involving five children taken by the Department of Children and Families, a Riley County, Kansas judge has allowed use of medical cannabis by the children’s parents.
Writing that visitation with the children can continue even if the parents test positive for marijuana, the judge required them to provide proof of their medical marijuana recommendations issued in Colorado. The judge stated drug testing, “shall be for this case only and not for criminal prosecution.”
