Wild Pitch Dooms Volcanoes

It's FREE baseball giveaway night Saturday at Volcanoes Stadium.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Salem Keizer Volcanoes Eugene walked off with the 5-4 win via a E.J. Eincinosa wild pitch with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning Friday night in front of 2,765 inside PK Park.

Joey Epperson lead off the bottom of the 10th inning with a walk by Dusten Knight, followed by a sacrifice bunt by River Stephens that put the runner at second base.

Volcanoes Rally to Stun Dust Devils

The Volcanoes are now 7-2 in the Northwest League second half.

(PASCO, Wash. ) - Salem Keizer Volcanoes Salem-Keizer claimed a come-from-behind win over Tri-City 8-7 Wednesday night in front of 1,358 at Gesa Satdium.

The Volcanoes were down 6-1 entering action in the top of the seventh inning, and finished the game on a 7-1 comeback, including four runs in the top of the ninth inning to claim the first game of the five-game series against the Dust Devils.

After scoring nine runs in the series opener, Salem-Keizer picked up right where it left off on Monday night.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - Salem Keizer Volcanoes Great pitching and tremendous offense have been reoccurring themes for the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, during a second half of the season in which they have won five of their first six games.

The Volcanoes' offense produced 10 hits, and Jason Forjet allowed just three runs in six innings, as Salem-Keizer defeated the Eugene Emeralds 5-3 at Volcanoes Stadium.

The Volcanoes improved to 5-1 in second half play, continuing to pace the Northwest League South Division.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - Salem Keizer Volcanoes The Volcanoes didn't take batting practice prior to Sunday evening's game versus Eugene, but they definitely got their swings in en route to a 9-1 blowout victory in the series opener.

Entering Saturday night's contest, Thompson surrendered just one run in his past 13 innings of work.

Volcanoes Win 4th Straight

The Volcanoes eye a series sweep when they send lefty Nick Gonzalez to the mound, owner of the Northwest League's second-lowest ERA of 2.37.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - Salem Keizer Volcanoes Salem-Keizer has used seven and eight-run innings to record sizeable wins over Spokane and begin the second half on the right foot. It was only a four-run inning on Friday night, but it still got the job done as the Volcanoes won their fourth straight game over the Indians in front of 3,968 at Volcanoes Stadium.

With the game knotted at one in the second inning, the Volcanoes loaded the bases with nobody out. Brett Kay put Salem-Keizer on the board initially with an RBI single in to center field.

Salem-Keizer Volcanoes Announce All-Stars

The Volcanoes will have a heavy representation in the infield with three All-Star starters.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - Salem Keizer Volcanoes The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, in conjunction with the Northwest League president's office, have announced six players will participate in the 2014 Northwest League All-Star Game Tuesday, August 5 in Eugene, Oregon.

Three pitchers and three infielders will represent the Volcanoes on the South Division roster as Jose Reyes, E.J. Encinosa, Eury Sanchez, Christian Arroyo, Will Callaway, and Travious "T" Relaford will all make the trip to PK Park.

Forjet Fans 11 in Volcanoes Win over Spokane

Sanchez tied a baseball record with four strikeouts in the ninth inning.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - Jason Forjet Howling winds out to left showed promise of an offensive night at Volcanoes Stadium, but Jason Forjet quickly rewrote the story as he struck out 11 Spokane batters en route to a 5-2 Volcanoes victory on Wednesday night.

"Today I had my breaking ball working for me, and I was throwing my fastball to both sides of the plate," Forjet said.

The Volcanoes start an eight-game homestand Tuesday night at Volcanoes Stadium against Spokane.

(BOISE, Idaho ) - Salem Keizer Volcanoes Justin Marra's leadoff bottom of the eighth inning home run lifts Boise to a come-from-behind win over Salem-Keizer 7-6 Monday night on the final day of the Northwest League first half in front of 1,814 at Memorial Stadium.

The Hawks were down 5-1 entering the bottom of the sixth inning but had a five-run inning to grab the lead from the Volcanoes.
