Keizer Man Convicted of Child Sexual Assault and Marital Rape

All of the counts are subject to Ballot Measure 11 presumptive sentences.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Today, a Marion County jury convicted 53-year old Nikolay Avdeyev on multiple charges of rape, sexual abuse, and unlawful sexual penetration.

Specifically, defendant was convicted of three counts of rape in the first degree, three counts of rape in the second degree, one count of unlawful sexual penetration in the first degree, and eleven counts of sexual abuse in the first degree.

(NEW YORK) - rape kit DNA evidence is an invaluable investigative tool. When tested, rape kit evidence can identify an unknown assailant, confirm the presence of a known suspect, affirm the survivor's account of the attack, connect the suspect to other crime scenes, and exonerate the wrongly convicted.

Yet too often the decision is made not to test these kits. Right now, there are hundreds of thousands of untested rape kits sitting in police and crime lab storage facilities across the country. We don’t yet know the extent of the backlog in Oregon. But we are soon to find out.

91 percent of U.S. college campuses report zero incidents of rape, domestic and dating violence, and stalking.

(WASHINGTON) - college rape For the first time this year, because of new reporting requirements passed in the 2013 Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (VAWA), campuses are now providing data on dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking in addition to rape statistics.

And yet, in each of these new categories only 9–11 percent of campuses disclosed at least one reported incident in 2014.
