Four student leaders arrested. Fear of torture... rallies will convey a strong message to the Sri Lankan Government that Jaffna University students and Tamils are not alone in that island.

Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) today urged everyone to join rallies around the world against the attack on Jaffna University students in the island of Sri Lanka.
These rallies around the world are organized by Tamil youth Organizations.

When I returned home in 1995 with our pet Dalmatian with its spots, hostile crowds gathered around us at Katunayake with shouts of Koti-Balla (Tiger-Dog).
On other trips I had been taken straight to the Katunayake Police Station, and held up at Vanuniya and released after my friend travelling with me was arrested.
The Sri Lankan Civil War is one of several notable failings of the UN and in order to maintain any form of legitimacy the incidence of such shortcomings must decrease.

In early November a damning internal United Nations report into the organisation’s actions at the end of the Sri Lankan Civil War was leaked.
The document, in uncharacteristically unequivocal terms, stated that the UN had shown “a grave failure” in its mandate to protect the lives of civilians as the conflict trudged towards its appalling climax.
