Sri Lanka`s Unending Conflict

The word ‘Tamil Eelam’ in modern times was used as early as 1923 by Sir Ponnambalam Arunchalam, thirty years before Prabhakaran was born.

(NEW DELHI, India The Pioneer) - Sri Lanka unending war What will a UNHRC resolution matter after 500 years — or even 500 days? The Tamils of Sri Lanka will continue to be underdogs and without a political resolution, the sores will continue to fester.

Colombo betrayed its complicity to genocide years before the first gunshot was fired in the Lankan civil war.

An Action Plan that is Basically Dishonest

As citizens of a country on the verge of falling into the abyss, we can only roundly condemn its fundamental lack of honesty and sincerity.

(COLOMBO, Sri Lanka Sunday Times) - Sri Lanka logo rumpled One cannot fail to be amazed at the considerable ingenuity if not wild imagination with which the government’s National Plan of Action to implement the recommendations of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission has been drafted.

Some responses invoke chuckles of glee whilst other promises invoke far more heated reactions given the sheer chutzpah with which they have been made.

Unless the present government reverse course and integrate the Tamil community into the mainstream, the invaluable opportunity the end of the civil war presented to Sri Lanka will be lost.

(COLOMBO, Sri Lanka) - Tamils of Sri Lanka In May 2009, the civil war in Sri Lanka drew to a close. It had been a sanguinary conflict claiming anywhere between 80,000 and 100,000 lives.

Not surprisingly, there was a palpable sense of relief amongst the majority Sinhala population. Even the Tamil population, many of whom were not active supporters of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), had reasons to celebrate.

Criticizing the Dark Side of Radical Islam Doesn`t Make One Pro-Israel

I criticize and equally applaud all religions; what sets one apart from the next is always simply how they are applied.

(SALEM) - Coexist I write about the realities of resistance fighters and movements deemed 'terrorist' because I understand the struggle that leads to such falsely used nomenclature.

I stand against all forms of state terrorism first and foremost and believe that all hope is lost when totalitarian governments rule and are simultaneously allowed to illegally occupy the land of other nations.
