Human Rights Ambassador for Salem-News.com, William Nicholas Gomes, calls it a clear effort to prevent the human rights defender and his colleagues from carrying out their peaceful and legitimate activities in defence of human rights in Syria.
(WASHINGTON, DC) -
On 29 January 2014 leading media activist and human rights defender Mr Raed Fares was shot at close range in front of his home in Kafranbel in the North-west Syrian province of Idlib.
The human rights defender is in a stable condition at Al-Aqra' hospital, despite having sustained serious injuries in the attack.
A neighborhood was shelled by explosives leaving a toddler buried alive beneath suffocating rocks and dirt.

A baby buried alive was rescued from the rubble after an explosion in Syria. The video was first published by Nour.Media.Center activists in Syria's second city of Aleppo on January 22, 2014 showing dramatic scenes as a miracle unfolds before the camera.
Many are accusing the Assad army of destroying the building in which the child's family lived, in the Almasranih Neighborhood of Aleppo in Syria.
17,000 Palestinian Refugees in the Yarmouk Camp in Damascus are being starved to death by Al Qaeda Terrorists who will not let them leave to buy food.

This has been going on for months now and the world is turning a blind eye to their plight. Instead the west are supporting the very terrorists who are using these people as human shields.
There are babies in the camp who have already died. One mother managed to escape to get some food so that she could make milk to breastfeed her baby. The terrorists prevented her returning and the baby died.
It took several hours of negotiation to be allowed to film the moment the fighters lay down their weapons in the silent alley.

They emerged from the shadows of a rubble-strewn street, hands raised and stripped to the waist to ensure they weren’t wearing suicide vests.

In spite of their best efforts to unseat Syria's President Bashal al Assad and disband its secular government, the western powers have failed to bring about the regime change they seek.
The United States is funding al Qaeda militants; the same jihadist mercenaries the Americans were recently fighting in Iraq, to destabilize Syria, but the intervention of Russia has slowed the U.S. mission to wage war in yet another country.
International law relevant to situations of this nature was created specifically to stop the targeting of civilians.

At the Palestine Embassy in Beirut recently, a young lady showed this observer a video of a gentleman in Yarmouk camp in Damascus. The video showed the man killing and eating a cat.
Food ran out in Yarmouk weeks ago, and nearly 18,000 refugees are facing death from starvation and other conflict-related causes. This siege has been ongoing since July 2013, and it has become viciously lethal.
